Holiday in the quiet, sun-drenched mountain village of Velturno

Our holiday apartments, which are open all year round, are the perfect starting point for a range of activities in the Valle Isarco and the mountains of the Dolomites.

The village of Velturno is known for its diverse vegetation, shaded chestnut groves, orchards, open pastures and meadows that give it a special character. The village’s approximately 3,000 chestnut trees are real landmarks of the community.

4 good reasons why Velturno is the ideal place for a holiday in South Tyrol:

For hikers:

At the gates of Velturno, there is a hiking area that stretches from the Valle Isarco/Eisack Valley vineyards to the 2,500m-high mountain peaks of the Val Sarentino/Sarntal Alps. You can expect breathtaking views of the Dolomite peaks and a welcome break at one of the cosy alpine huts. It’s a real paradise for holidaymakers who enjoy walking, hiking and climbing trails. Adrenaline seekers can become one with nature on high-alpine mountain bike tours. On hot summer days, you can immerse yourself in the refreshing water of the public outdoor swimming pool.

For gourmet enthusiasts:

Fans of great cuisine are sure to get their money's worth in the Valle Isarco. Numerous renowned restaurants, rustic taverns and inviting bars will pamper your palate with regional delicacies and fine wines from South Tyrol. Treat yourself to a delicious brunch in the nearby Tonig Bar garden cafe or visit us in autumn from mid-October to mid-November during “Keschtnigl”, when the sweet chestnuts that our village becomes the focus of culinary delights. In Velturno, you’ll also find restaurants, pizzerias, two grocery stores and a bakery. We recommend the following gourmet restaurants in the vicinity of Velturno: Zum Steinbock in Villandro, Finsterwirt in Bressanone and Unterwirt in Chiusa/Gudon.

For culture lovers:

Velturno offers unforgettable, relaxing holidays all year round with its friendly village centre and scattered farms. The Renaissance castle in the centre of the village is a fixed point of reference for cultural life. Get to know the history of the landscape, as well as the languages, customs and traditions of the local people. Explore the nearby medieval town of Chiusa or the shopping streets of the episcopal town of Bressanone. The Valle Isarco also offers numerous museums and historical sites for those interested in culture.

For winter sport enthusiasts:

Winter invites you to explore the untouched landscape on winter hikes, snowshoe tours, toboggan runs, cross-country skiing, skiing via the small Maders ski lift and ski tours to the Kühberg. Velturno is the ideal starting point for excursions, hikes or for visiting nearby ski areas: the Plose (15 km), the Gitschberg, Alpe di Siusi and Val Gardena (approx. 30 minutes away).

All-year-round experience

Let your senses run free. In summer, you can enjoy the magical view of the magnificent mountain scenery, which acquires a stunning soft pink hue as the days come to an end. Explore a wide range hiking trails in autumn, when the colourful leaves make an exciting crunch under your feet as you wander past numerous wine taverns. In winter, you can visit a variety of Christmas markets in the nearby towns and cities, which will put a twinkle in the eye of visitors of any age. Skiing, winter hiking and much more is also waiting for you. And once the last snow melts, the faint rays of the spring sun lure the first crocuses out of the meadows as nature reawakens to the happy twittering of birds, offering new opportunities for holidaymakers of all ages.
